Inaugural programme

The inaugural session of the Workshop on “Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights: A Way Forward” took place on June 5, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences, Karad. Highlights of the Programme:

Opening Address by Dr. D. K. Agarwal: Dr. Agarwal outlined the workshop's aims and objectives, emphasizing the importance of research, innovation, and intellectual property rights (IPR). He highlighted the Directorate of Research’s efforts at Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth in fostering a culture of research and innovation, focusing on copyrights and patents.

Address by Mr. Argya Roy: Mr. Roy stressed the significance of the workshop in advancing knowledge about innovation and IPR within health sciences. He encouraged all participants to actively engage and leverage the workshop for their professional development.

Chief Guest Address by DR. Mrs. Vaishali Rajsinh Mohite: Dr. Mohite emphasized that innovation is essential for progress and IPR forms the foundation of this process. She highlighted the role of patents in promoting research and development, protecting ideas, and sharing them globally. Drawing from the legacy of Late Founder Chancellor Jaywantrao Bhosale, she recalled his visionary contributions and stressed the importance of innovation in various fields, including healthcare and technology. Dr. Mohite encouraged participants to strive for impactful innovation, reminding them that “the sky is the limit for innovation” and to always be a part of the solution, not the problem. Madam also expressed gratitude to his excellency Hon’ble Dr Suresh Bhosale, Chancellor of prestigious Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth Karad for providing golden opportunity to write his or her own destiny with power of education.

Dr. Jayant Pawar delivered an insightful presentation on the intricacies of innovation and the patent filing process, highlighting its significance. He emphasized the value of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for the professional growth of faculty members and its importance for researchers, scholars, and postgraduate students. His guidance provided a comprehensive understanding of how patents can enhance academic and professional advancement.

Presidential Address by Hon’ble Dr. Pravin Shingare: Dr. Shingare provided practical insights into how innovation can be integrated into everyday life and its significant impact on healthcare quality, economic growth, and national development. He urged faculty and students to embrace innovation in their respective fields, including Medicine, Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Allied Sciences.
