KRISHNA COLLEGE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY

REPORT OF CHARANSEVA

Krishna College of Physiotherapy, Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Karad, actively participated in Charan Seva, a humanitarian service initiative conducted as part of the public service mission inspired by the vision of the Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis. The initiative was organized to provide comfort and relief to the Warkaris undertaking the sacred pilgrimage to Pandharpur for Ashadhi Ekadashi Wari.

On 16th and 18th August 2026, a team comprising 45 final year students of Krishna College of Physiotherapy and 5 medical staff under the guidance of Dr. Ankita Durgawale and Dr. Dhairysheel Patil, enthusiastically volunteered to serve the Warkaris at Taradgaon on 16th August, and Barad on 18th August in Maharashtra. The volunteers devoted themselves to performing Charan Seva foot massage for the pilgrims, many of whom had been walking continuously for several days as part of their spiritual journey. The service was extended to Warkaris of all age groups, particularly elderly pilgrims who experienced fatigue, soreness, and discomfort after covering long distances on foot.

Through this noble initiative, the volunteers provided Charan Seva to a total of 960 Warkaris on the first day and 1260 Warkaris on the second day. The simple yet compassionate act of massaging the feet of the pilgrims brought visible relief and comfort, helping to ease their tiredness and allowing them to continue their journey with renewed energy and enthusiasm. The heartfelt gratitude and blessings received from the Warkaris made the experience deeply meaningful for everyone involved.

The programme proved to be an enriching and memorable experience for the students. It instilled values of empathy, humility, compassion, and selfless service while highlighting the importance of giving back to society. The students were honoured to contribute to the well-being of the Warkaris and experienced immense satisfaction in being part of a service that supported thousands of devotees during one of Maharashtra’s most revered spiritual traditions.

Krishna College of Physiotherapy takes pride in participating in such community-oriented initiatives that foster social responsibility alongside professional education. The successful participation in Charan Seva reflects the institution’s commitment to humanitarian values and encourages students to serve society with dedication, respect, and compassion.

The dedicated efforts of Krishna College of Physiotherapy in rendering selfless service during the Charan Seva initiative were recognized with the prestigious Best Charan Seva Award, presented by the Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis. The award was received on behalf of the institution by Dr. Dhairysheel Patil in recognition of the outstanding commitment, compassion, and exemplary service demonstrated by the faculty and students throughout the programme. This prestigious honour stands as a testament to the institution’s unwavering dedication to community service and humanitarian values, inspiring both faculty and students to continue serving society with sincerity, empathy, and excellence.
