KIMS- Workshop on Routine Immunization Updates, Vaccine Preventable Diseases, and AEFI Surveillance Held at KIMS, Karad
The Department of Community Medicine, KIMS, KVV (DU), Karad, in collaboration with WHO NPSP Pune, successfully organized a workshop on "Routine Immunization Updates, Vaccine Preventable Diseases, and AEFI Surveillance" on 14th January 2025. The event, held at S1 Hall, KIMS, Karad, witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 healthcare professionals, including faculty members, postgraduate students, and interns.
The workshop commenced with a traditional Saraswati Poojan and lamp-lighting ceremony, graced by esteemed dignitaries on the dais, including Dr. Yugantara R. Kadam (Dean and Organizing Chairman, KIMS), Dr. Vasundhara V. Ghorpade (Organizing Secretary, Professor & Head, Community Medicine), Dr. Chetan Khade (SMO, WHO Pune), Dr. Anil Bhoi (Professor & Head, Paediatrics), Dr. Swati Aundhakar (Professor & Head, Medicine), and Dr. Nitin Jadhav (NMC Observer, Professor, Medicine).
The sessions were conducted by Dr. Chetan Khade, who provided valuable insights into routine immunization protocols, vaccine-preventable disease surveillance, and AEFI monitoring. The workshop included interactive discussions, Q&A segments, and practical strategies for strengthening immunization and reporting mechanisms.
Dr. Vasundhara V. Ghorpade welcomed the gathering, while Dr. Rajsinh V. Mohite presented the session summaries. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Prashant Ghunkikar, Associate Professor, Community Medicine, followed by a networking high tea session.
