WORLD PHYSIOTHERAPY DAY REPORT 2025-26

The event commenced at 9:00 AM on the college campus and was inaugurated by our respected Dean, Sir. As part of the celebration, community physiotherapy camps were organized across various villages. From Krishna College of Physiotherapy along with our respected Dean Sir around 200 students from the batch of Final year BPTh, Interns and First year MPTh along with 10 Staff members were part of the Rural camp organized by the organizing batch 2025 to raise awareness about healthy ageing. The students and the Staff members were divided into 5 teams for 5 Adopted villages.

Glimpse of inauguration

Following the inauguration, all teams proceeded to their respective villages, reaching the venues by around 10:30 AM. Upon arrival, a formal inauguration ceremony was organized by the villagers. During the ceremony, the staff members were warmly felicitated by the village Sarpanch with tokens of appreciation as a gesture of gratitude and respect.

At Khubi Village, the staff in charge were Dr. S. Anand, Dr. Smita Patil, and Dr. Chandrakant Patil. As part of the awareness initiative, a short skit on the theme of “Healthy Ageing” was presented for the community, conveying the importance of maintaining health and mobility in later years. This was followed by a rally aimed at promoting awareness about healthy ageing among the villagers. The response from the community was highly encouraging, with enthusiastic participation and keen interest throughout the event. Subsequently, a physiotherapy screening camp was conducted, benefitting a total of 88 individuals from the village.

At Dushere Village, the staff in charge were Dr. Sandeep Shinde and Dr. Shradha Mohite. This was followed by a rally aimed at promoting awareness about healthy ageing among the villagers. The response from the community was highly encouraging, with enthusiastic participation and keen interest throughout the event. Subsequently, a physiotherapy screening camp was conducted, benefitting a total of 102 individuals from the village.

At Shere Village, the staff in charge were Dr. Vaishali Jagtap and Dr. Omkar Somade. This was followed by a rally aimed at promoting awareness about healthy ageing among the villagers. The response from the community was highly encouraging, with enthusiastic participation and keen interest throughout the event. Subsequently, a physiotherapy screening camp was conducted, benefitting a total of 88 individuals from the village.

At Lawanmachi Village, the staff in charge were Dr. Satyam Bodhaji and Dr. Ankita Durgawale. This was followed by a rally aimed at promoting awareness about healthy ageing among the villagers. The response from the community was highly encouraging, with enthusiastic participation and keen interest throughout the event. Subsequently, a physiotherapy screening camp was conducted, benefitting a total of 110 individuals from the village.

At Gondi Village, the staff in charge was Dr. Poonam Patil. This was followed by a rally aimed at promoting awareness about healthy ageing among the villagers. The response from the community was highly encouraging, with enthusiastic participation and keen interest throughout the event. Subsequently, a physiotherapy screening camp was conducted, benefitting a total of 110 individuals from the village.

The overall response to the camp was highly positive. The community were assessed, treated, and educated on key aspects of healthy ageing.

The villagers expressed appreciation for the initiative, and the event concluded on a successful and impactful note.

PHYSIOTHERAPY SCREENING CAMP AT KARAD

A rally and Physiotherapy awareness initiative was conducted by the Physiotherapy College, Karad, on 22nd September beginning at 9:00 AM from the college premises. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all academic years — from 1st BPTh to 2nd MPTh— along with the teaching and non-teaching staff, and under the guidance of our respected Dean Sir.

The rally commenced from the Physiotherapy College Gate, proceeding through T Gate, and continued to the Tehsildar Office Karad, followed by Datta Chowk, culminating at the final destination- the camp venue at Swargiye Shree Yashwantrao Chavan Hall, Daityanivarini Temple, Karad. The aim of the rally was to raise awareness among the local community about the upcoming free physiotherapy treatment camp and the importance of physiotherapy in maintaining healthy ageing

At the venue, the camp was inaugurated by our esteemed Chief Guest, Honourable Dr. Atul Baba Bhosale, MLA of Karad South and BJP District President of Satara. He had the honor of inaugurating the camp by performing the ribbon-cutting ceremony, thereby formally commencing the day’s proceedings.

A short inauguration program followed, during which, our Respected Dean Sir felicitated Hon Dr Atul Baba Bhosale with token of gratitude and respect. Mrs. Swati Pisal, a respected social worker, was felicitated by the Dean, Sir, with a token of appreciation as a mark of respect for her continued contribution to community welfare.

Hon. Dr. Atul Baba Bhosale addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of physiotherapy and the concept of healthy ageing. He encouraged the students to remain dedicated and focused on their goals, emphasizing the growing global demand for physiotherapy across various fields and sectors.

After the inauguration, members of the Reception Committee, comprising students, actively engaged in door-to-door awareness in the nearby areas surrounding the venue. They informed the local population about the free camp and personally invited elderly individuals to avail themselves of the services being offered.

The camp was conducted by A team of 50 students which included students from Final Year, Interns and Postgraduate Students, who provided free physiotherapy consultations and treatment.

A total of 70 beneficiaries received free physiotherapy treatment at the camp. The event was a commendable step towards community outreach and health promotion, and it offered valuable clinical exposure to the students involved.

The rally and subsequent camp were highly impactful, reflecting the collective efforts of the college's faculty, students, and administrative leadership. Such initiatives not only benefit the community but also enhance the practical learning experience for future healthcare professionals and promoting Healthy ageing.
